Fall is my favorite season to photograph families, and this year I'm bringing mini sessions and petite sessions to six of my favorite spots in and around Davis and Sacramento. If you've followed along for a while, you know that these sessions are quick, relaxed, and built around real moments: the giggling, the piggyback rides, the way your toddler refuses to look at the camera on cue. Each session gives you a small but meaningful set of images that feel timeless rather than trendy.

Davis: Let your kids splash in the water at this gorgeous creek location with green oak trees and golden grass in Davis, California. It's ok to get a little bit muddy at this spot, and we'll be able to catch your family's true personalities.
These are 20 minute Petite Sessions, so a little bit longer than a mini and perfect for families with young children.

The creek is a low-key, walkable location that's easy for little ones and a beautiful backdrop for warm, natural family portraits.
Flower Farm Petite Sessions at GroLuv Farm

Elk Grove: Rows of late-summer blooms and that soft farm-field light. These sessions are dreamy and a little whimsical and a great fit if you love color and texture in your images.
These are 20 minute Petite Sessions, so a little bit longer than a mini and perfect for families with young children.

This family farm is absolutely a gem in Elk Grove, and I am so thrilled to be offering Petite Sessions there this fall.
Land Park WPA Garden Mini Sessions
Wednesday, October 7
Sacramento: The WPA Rock Garden in Land Park is one of Sacramento's most storied settings. With its neutral stone paths, quiet greenery, and gorgeous open shade, it is a beautiful backdrop for mini sessions. Timeless and elegant, with room to wander and let the kids just be kids.
UCD Arboretum Redwood Grove Fall Mini Sessions

Davis: Towering redwoods and dappled light make this one of the most striking backdrops on the list. If you want portraits that show what fall in Northern California is all about, this is it.
Silveyville Tree Farm Holiday Minis
Sunday, October 25 and Sunday, November 1 (Petite option)
Dixon: It's the most wonderful time of the year at the tree farm for these quintessential holiday minis. The lush greenery of the tree farm is all ours before opening date, and the perfect trees create a setting that's perfect for getting your holiday card photos done early. Check that off the list!
Wander the rows of the tree farm as the holiday season starts to stir. Here you will smell the fresh pines, let your kids run between the rows of fir, and feel that first real dose of Christmas magic. These ones go fast for good reason!
North Davis Fall Color Mini Sessions

Davis: Rounding out fall mini sessions is Davis's best fall foliage. Warm tones, crunchy red and orange leaves, and that unmistakable autumn light sets the scene for a cozy, classic fall mini season. This location is the best place to let your dog run off leash for some extra fun during your mini!
What to Expect
Each mini session is a shorter, relaxed version of my usual documentary-style approach. Of course, kid-led and tailored to your family. I'll prompt you to help get that genuine interaction between you and the people you love. Sessions are limited at each location to keep things unhurried, so they do fill up quickly.
